At Fit Devotion Physical Therapy and Coaching, it doesn’t just stop after physical therapy stops.

Once pain has decreased and a connection and awareness to the body is better established, that is where the fun begins.

As a physical therapist and certified strength and conditioning coach, Dr. McCurdy creates unique and individualized plans to support people to be able to continue to do the things that they love to do such as running, lifting, and “momming.” At Fit Devotion, we understand that moms, in particular, benefit from defined direction during a busy and changing lifestyle.

All sessions are one-on-one and individualized based on your goals and current life situation. A whole body and personal approach is taken. It is understood that the root cause of injuries is not often at the site of the actual injury. It is also known that other factors can contribute such as nutrition, stress, sleep, and other factors.

Pregnancy & Postpartum

Prenatal and postnatal physical therapy and coaching focusing on addressing pain, body awareness, movement patterns, and diastasis recti treatment

Physical therapy during pregnancy can lessen the discomforts associated with the changing female body. This is a beautiful time in a woman’s life. Your body is doing amazing things! With these changes, discomfort can often take place and there may be an uncertainty on safety with your current exercise program or beginning exercise. I am here to guide you in this process.

Physical therapy during the postpartum period can help you discover what is normal and not normal, despite what might be common in the postpartum body and how to address these for better life-long function. Issues such as leaking, pelvic floor dysfunction, diastasis recti are all discussed and addressed. Identifying movement patterns such as how we get in and out of bed, breast-feeding positions, carrying baby/children, changing diapers, carrying car-seats, packing and unpacking strollers, ect are all addressed. Sub-optimal movement patterns may not cause issues at first, but it often doesn’t take long before pain or dysfunction sets in. My goal is to catch these before they do!

Women also aren’t always sure of a safe way to ease back into exercise programs or how to start one after having children. Specialized plans can be created for your unique lifestyle as a mom.

And remember, postpartum isn’t just a year or two after having a baby. Postpartum is for the rest of your life! So if you have issues 10+ years down the road, you can still be treated and have success.

Post-surgical Interventions & Coaching

Post-surgical physical therapy and coaching after-care for breast surgeries, tummy tucks and diastasis recti repair, and complete mommy make-overs

We work from the inside out! If you have had a surgical intervention for diastasis recti correction or even just for aesthetics with a breast augmentation, tummy tuck, or butt lift, it’s important to keep these aesthetics looking as if your amazing surgeon just put his magic on you even years from now! Physical therapy can help with the after care and Fit Devotion specializes in creating programs to accentuate and partner with your surgical intervention to keep you not only looking amazing but feeling amazing and strong and being able to use those deep internal muscles to work for you for optimal movement patterns.

Frequently Asked Questions

At Fit Devotion, we are an out of network provider. We do send a super bill so that you can file it with your insurance company for out of network benefits or send it in to your FSA or HSA. We know that paying out of pocket is more costly, but you will not have to share your time with anyone and can get to the source of your issues quicker.

We take referrals but you do not need one and you do not need a doctor’s prescription in the state of North Carolina. This state allows complete, unrestricted access to physical therapy.

A detailed movement evaluation can still be done and education and coaching can be provided.
